In my neck of the woods, there ARE indeed vet techs with OTJ training. I'm not thinking of veterinary assistants--we had those, too. The only distinction between vet techs with vocational school/college classes and vet techs with OTJ training is the name: "Registered vet tech" vs "vet tech." They performed exactly the same job.
